Learning how to get make-up off carpet is easier than you think, so if you have a troublesome foundation stain, read on for easy removal tips and tricks.
Blot the stain with a cloth or absorbent paper
Getting foundation out of carpet needs to start by removing as much excess make-up as possible. If the stain is new, use a cloth or piece of absorbent paper to blot up the foundation. Never rub the stain, as this could make it larger and push the foundation deeper into the carpet fibres.
Dab the foundation stain with a damp microfibre cloth
Use some lukewarm water and dip a microfibre cloth into the water and wring it out. The cloth should be damp, but not saturated. Dab the foundation-stained area with your damp cloth. This will allow you to absorb more of the liquid.
Add potato starch over the stain and soak for 24 hours
Sprinkle a dusting of potato starch over what remains of the foundation stain. Allow this to soak for 24 hours.
Vacuum the potato starch off the stain
The next day, vacuum the area where you sprinkled the potato starch. This should remove any foundation or make-up stains on your carpet!
