Say Goodbye to Dirty, Yellowing Bathroom Countertops

A stylish bathroom countertop can add to the beauty of your bathroom. But it is essential that you clean it regularly to maintain its finish. A clean, spick-and-span countertop can go a long way in adding to your bathroom’s appeal.

Did you know that some bleach-based cleaning agents or hard water can cause your bathroom counters to yellow? Use these clever tips to easily get rid of those ugly stains.

1) For Yellow Stains

Most stains can be eliminated with a warm, soapy water rinse. To make this solution, combine 2 cups of warm water and 2 tsp. of dishwashing liquid. Mix well and liberally spray over the stained bathroom countertop. Wait 10 minutes and scrub with a sponge pad. Then, rinse thoroughly with water and wipe with a clean, damp sponge.

2) For Tough Stains

For difficult stains, make a paste of 2 tbsp. of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water. Evenly apply the paste on the countertops and let it rest overnight. Next morning, wipe your countertop with a clean cloth dampened in warm water.

3) For Stains Between Countertop and Wall

For stains in the grout, make a cleaning solution by mixing 1 cup of warm water and 1 cup of baking soda. Mix well with a spoon. Dip an old toothbrush in this solution and scrub the stains. Wait 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. Finally, pat dry with a clean cloth.

Keeping your bathroom clean and spotless is an important step in maintaining the hygiene of your home.
