Amazing Ways to Keep Your Bathroom Smelling Fresh, Always!

Keeping your bathroom clean is a tough task in itself, so is keeping it from developing bad odours. It can get very embarrassing when you have guests over and the toilet is smelly. But don’t worry! Use these fast and effective methods to banish bad odours from your bathroom.

Let’s get started.

Wiping your bathroom surfaces dry will prevent mildew growth and keep the odour of dampness away to a great extent.

1) Create a DIY Bathroom Freshener

To make an air freshener at home, mix 3-cups water, 1-cup rubbing alcohol and 15-20 drops of your preferred essential oil, such as lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, or orange oil. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and leave it on the back of the toilet. Spray, when needed.

2) Clean the Surfaces of Your Toilet

A mixture of baking soda, lemon juice, and vinegar is very effective at reducing odour. Make a paste of lemon juice and baking soda, 1-tbsp. each. Mix them to get an even consistency. Spread this paste over the flooring of your toilet and around your toilet bowl using a damp rag and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wipe off the paste with water to reduce foul odour.

3) Create an Odour-Absorbent

Fill a glass vase or bowl with white vinegar or baking soda, and set it on the bathroom counter. Both household products help absorb odours from the air, leaving the room fresh and pleasant.

4) Maintain Ventilation

To get rid of embarrassing odours, proper ventilation is key. Simple airflow can help reduce smells. If you have an exhaust fan, turn it on after you use the bathroom. If you don't, open the bathroom door or window to let the outside air in. Try to keep the bathroom dry at all times as moisture can cause mildew to build up, resulting in a musty smelling bathroom.

5) Clean the Toilet Bowl

Toilet bowls, if kept unclean for a long time, can release foul odours. To clean your toilet bowl, first wear rubber gloves and then pour ½-cup vinegar around the inner and the outer rims of your toilet bowl and let it run down to the base. Allow it to rest for five minutes. Then, using a toilet scrubbing brush, clean the entire toilet bowl thoroughly and flush. Repeat the process a couple of times if needed.

These simple tips will keep your bathroom smelling fresh at all times.
