Keeping your bathroom clean itself is a tough task and so is to fight it’s odour. It can get very embarrassing when we have guests over and the toilet is smelly. But don’t worry! These fast and effective methods use only household ingredients to banish bad odours and keep your bathroom smelling fresh. Here is how-
- Rubbing alcohol and essential oils: To make a home-made air freshener, mix three parts of water, one-part of rubbing alcohol, and 10 to 20 drops of any essential oil, such as lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, or orange oil. Pour the mixture in a spray bottle and leave on the back of the toilet. Spray when needed.
- Vinegar: A mixture of baking soda, lemon juice, and vinegar is very effective at reducing odour. Make a paste of equal parts lemon juice and baking soda. Mix the substances together to get an even consistency. Spread this paste along the bottom of the toilet and the toilet seat using a damp rag and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. Wipe off the paste with water after sometime to reduce foul odour.
- To absorb foul odours: When it comes to the bathroom, odours happen. Keep the room fresh with natural odour absorbers. Fill a pretty glass vase or bowl with white vinegar or baking soda, then set it on the bathroom counter. Both household products help absorb odours out of the air, leaving the room fresh and pleasant.
- Exhaust: To cover up embarrassing odours, proper ventilation is the key. Simple air flow can help reduce smells. If you have an exhaust fan, turn it on after bathroom use. If you don't, open the bathroom door or window to let air enter. Try to keep the bathroom dry at all times as moisture can cause mildew to build-up, resulting in a musty smelling bathroom.
These simple hacks will keep your bathroom smelling fresh at all times and will ensure that you are never ashamed of your washroom.
