Your Toothbrush-Holder Needs Deep-Cleaning Too!

While you know the importance of keeping your toothbrush clean, it’s also important to clean its holder regularly. In this article, we tell you how to deep-clean your toothbrush-holder.

After you brush your teeth and place your toothbrush back into its holder, the brush is still wet. After usage, the water from your brush drips and collects at the bottom of the holder, which becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and makes the holder filthy over time.

The bacteria can enter your body the next time you brush your teeth, which can lead to illness. Here’s how you can clean that holder now!

Step 1: Soak in Warm Water

Fill ½ a bucket with warm water. Soak your toothbrush-holder in it for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Make a Cleaning Solution

Take a bowl of warm water and add 2-3 drops of dishwashing liquid to it.

Step 3: Clean the Holder

Dip a clean cloth in this soapy solution. Use it to thoroughly clean all parts of your holder, both inside and out.

Step 4: Rinse the Holder

Rinse the holder thoroughly to ensure you get rid of any toothpaste residue.

Step 5: Wipe Clean

Finally, take a dry cloth and wipe the holder clean.

If your toothbrush-holder is dishwasher safe, you can soak it in warm water for 10 minutes to allow the dirt stuck at the bottom to loosen. Then, put it in your dishwasher along with your regular load.

If the holder isn’t suitable for a dishwasher, or if you do not have a dishwasher, you will need to hand-wash the holder as in the steps above.

There you go! It’s easy to clean your toothbrush-holder, so we recommend you do it at least twice a month.
