To Machine-Wash Acrylic Clothes

Has your lifestyle during the Covid-19 lockdown affected the type of stains you get on your clothes?

Step 1: Make a Cleaning Solution

Check the care label before washing your clothes. If it mentions machine-wash, follow these steps, or else hand-wash your acrylic clothes. Take ½ a bucket of lukewarm water and add 1 tbsp. of vinegar to it.

Step 2: Soak

Drop your acrylic clothes in the bucket and wait for 15 minutes. The Vinegar will loosen any stains and make your acrylic clothes ready for wash.

Step 3: Place the Garment in a Mesh Bag

Place your clothes in a mesh bag before dropping them into the washing machine. The bag will protect your acrylic clothes from getting tangled with other clothes and also protect the fibres.

Step 4: Run the Cycle

Now set the machine on gentle cycle with cold-water setting. Use cold or lukewarm water while washing your acrylic or woollen clothes. If your machine has wool setting, use it. Use a mild detergent or look for the best liquid detergent for wool in the market. It’s easily available.

Step 5: Dry

You can run your acrylic clothes through the dry-cycle on a low temperature setting.

To Wash Wool Clothes

We offer you a simple method on how to wash wool. You can wash wool in the washing machine, but we suggest you hand-wash if you can, as wool is delicate and requires gentle cleaning.

Step 1: Make a Cleaning Solution

To make your cleaning solution, take ½ a bucket of lukewarm or cold water and add 2 tsp. of mild detergent to it. Mix well.

Step 2: Soak

Drop your woollen clothes in this cleaning solution and wait for 20 minutes. This will loosen most of the dirt and dust and get your clothes ready for the wash.

Step 3: Rinse

Take out the clothes from this bucket and gently wring out water. Take another bucket of plain water and rinse your woollen clothes in this bucket.

Step 4: Dry

Wool absorbs water, and if dried on a hanger, the extra moisture will weigh it down and cause the garment to lose shape. Lay a clean towel on a flat surface and place your washed woollen garment on it. Allow it to air-dry.
