Clearing vomit from any surfaces is probably one of the most unpleasant jobs of being a parent. Just follow these steps to clear the vomit stains from any surface.

Do not use hot water. It will hold the protein stench to the fabric.

Step 1:

Remove vomit stains. Start by scraping as much excess vomit as possible from the carpet or clothing by using a plastic scraper and blotting with paper towels. Run cold water through the stain to force the stain out through the fabric.

Step 2:

Treat and scrub. Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda on half a lemon and scrub it on the stain. Apply Surf Excel liquid detergent on it and soak in cold water. You can also use 1 tablespoon of ammonia and ½ a tablespoon of Surf Excel liquid detergent for carpets and other surfaces.

Step 3:

Use a toothbrush. Scrub away the stains with a brush. Use a sponge for carpets or sofas to absorb the stain.

Step 4:

Let it sit. Set it aside for 3 to 5 minutes. Wash in warm water, using a liquid laundry detergent.
