A clean toilet seat is important to maintain the freshness and aesthetics of your bathroom. You must follow a strict cleaning schedule to keep it free of germs and stains. However, in the case of vomit, treat the stains as soon as you can. Leaving the vomit stains on your toilet seat will make your bathroom smell foul, and the odour will consequently spread to your entire home. Always wear protective gloves while cleaning your bathroom to avoid direct contact. Keep your bathroom well-ventilated to allow fresh air to flow freely.

Step 1: Make Cleaning Solution

Take a bucket of water and add 4 drops of toilet cleaner to it. Mix well. Use an effective toilet cleaner like Domex Toilet Cleaner to wash the toilet bowl. Read the back of all the packs for use instructions and test on a small part first.

Step 2: Soak the Toilet Seat

Remove the toilet seat and soak it in the cleaning solution for 10-15 minutes. The best time to clean is when your family members have stepped out or when they are not in a hurry to use the bathroom. You will need at least 30 minutes to complete the cleaning process. So, inform the other members of the house that the washroom will be inaccessible during this time.

Step 3: Soak and Scrub

After 10 minutes, remove the soaked toilet seat from the solution and scrub the stained area with an old toothbrush. Most of the stains will come right off. For stubborn stains, you’ll have to soak the toilet seat in the cleaning solution for longer. Repeat the soaking and scrubbing process until you’ve removed all the stains. Rinse with plain water and wipe with a dry cotton cloth. Finally, reattach the seat to the toilet bowl.

Your toilet seat is clean and stain-free now.
