How to Wash your Baby's Soft Toys | Cleanipedia

Drool, snot and dirt get accumulated on the surfaces of your toddler’s favourite soft toys and become breeding ground for bacteria. Overtime, the colour of your kid’s soft toys fade and give them a dull appearance. It’s important to give them a thorough cleaning, not only to revive their appearance but also to make them germ-free. Are you wondering where you can find some cleaning tips for those cute little soft toys? Don’t worry, you’re in the right place.

Try these simple tips to clean those soft toys like a pro.

Not all soft toys can go into your washing machine. Always check the care label to understand the wash care instructions. Also, if there are any hard objects on your toys such as buttons, we suggest you hand-wash them.

1) Machine-Washing

Start by gently removing any hardened dirt on the toys with a spoon. Then, place your toys in a mesh bag or a pillowcase to protect them from damage in the washing machine. Set your machine on a gentle, cold water cycle. Next, add ½ a cup of mild detergent and ½ a cup of white vinegar and run the wash cycle. Once done, place the toys on a flat surface to air-dry.

2) Hand-Washing

If the toys are well-worn, it’s best to hand-wash. Start by removing any hardened dirt from the surfaces of the toys with a spoon. Then soak them in a mixture of ½ a bucket of lukewarm water and ½ a cup of dishwashing liquid, and wait 30 minutes. This will loosen all the dirt. Remove the toys and empty the bucket. Next, make another solution by adding ½ cups of mild detergent and white vinegar to ½ a bucket of lukewarm water. Gently wash the toys in this solution and rinse thoroughly. Place on a flat surface to dry naturally.

There you go! These simple tips will remove the dirt and disinfect your kid’s soft toys.
