Steps to Tackle Oily Stains Your Kids Left on Your Bed Sheets

Children always find a way to sneak snacks into the bedroom and enjoy them in bed. And when this happens, a few spills are inevitable. Those stubborn oily stains can be difficult to remove if not treated immediately. So, the moment you spot a spill, follow these steps to combat the stains.

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stains

Sprinkle some water over the stained area and let it soak for 2-3 minutes. Next, dab the area with a cloth or towel to get rid of as much of the spill as possible.

Step 2: Make a Paste

Create a mixture comprising 2 tbsp. of baking soda and a cup of water. Apply this paste on the stained area and leave it for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub in a Circular Motion

Take a cloth and gently scrub the paste into the stained area. Do this in a circular motion to allow the baking soda and water mixture to work on the stains.

Step 4: Use Lemon

Now take a lemon and slice it in half. Squeeze and rub the lemon slices over the stained area and let it mix with the paste.

Step 5: Wipe the Paste

Finally, take a damp cloth and wipe the paste and lemon off. You should notice the stain coming off as well.

Step 6: Wash in the Machine

Wash your sheets as you normally would in your washing machine, using a mild detergent.

Step 7: Dry in Sunlight

The last step is to dry your sheets. Doing this in mild sunlight is ideal as it helps kill germs, and the fresh air will leave your sheets smelling fresh.

There you go! Follow these simple steps to keep your bed sheets clean and your kids happy.
