Easy Tips to Care for your Wallpaper | Cleanipedia

Wallpapers are one of the easiest ways to decorate your home. Of course, they are susceptible to wear and tear. However, if you care for your wallpapers correctly, you can easily increase their life span.

Here are a few tried and tested tips to help you maintain your wallpaper. Keep them looking bright, and you’ll always be ready to welcome guests.

1) Vacuum or Sweep

Vacuuming is the simplest way to remove cobwebs from your wallpapers. If you try to brush them away, there is a risk of streaking, especially on textured wallpapers. For non-textured wallpapers, you can attach a microfibre cloth to a long-handled sweeper. Now, clean the dust from the wallpapers using this microfiber cloth.

How do you know that the surfaces in your kitchen and bathroom have been disinfected?

2) Use Wallpaper Dough

Wallpaper dough is easily available in hardware stores. All you have to do is take some dough from the container and roll it into a ball. Now, use this ball to lift loose dirt from your wallpaper. To use each ball fully, knead the dirt into the dough after each use and roll it again to expose a fresh surface.

3) Test to Check If You Can Wash

Not all wallpapers are washable. To check if your wallpaper can be washed, identify a small spot in one corner and dab some dishwashing gel and water on it as a trial. Wait 5 minutes. If you don’t observe any adverse changes in the colour or texture of your wallpaper, you can go ahead and wash it confidently.

4) Caring For Vinyl Wallpapers

Normally, vinyl wallpaper sheets are used in the kitchen area. These can be easily wiped with a wet sponge. Use a mild detergent, if needed. However, do not use abrasive scrubbers like steel wool as these can corrode the sheets.
