A clean, comfortable sofa is the heart of your living room, the spot where friends and family gather, and keeping it clean is important. Here’s how you can keep your sofa spotless!
This is the first step to cleaning your sofa. Dust your sofa and the cushions several times using an old towel or a clean rag to get rid of surface dirt. Follow this up with vacuuming.
How do you know that the surfaces in your kitchen and bathroom have been disinfected?
Before you begin cleaning your sofa, bear in mind the upholstery material. For some sofas, you can use water to clean, while for others, vacuuming might be enough.
To Clean Fabric Upholstery
In a spray bottle, prepare a solution with ¼ cup of vinegar, ¾ cup of warm water and 1 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid. Use it on the soiled area. Scrub with a microfibre cloth until the stain lifts up and then pat the cleaned area dry with a towel.
To Clean Leather Upholstery
In a spray bottle, prepare a solution by mixing ½ cup of olive oil, ¼ cup of vinegar and1 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid. Use it on the soiled area. Scrub with a microfibre cloth until the stain lifts up and then pat the cleaned area dry with a towel.
To Clean Faux Leather Upholstery
In a bowl, mix 2 cups of water and add 4-5 drops of your preferred dishwashing liquid, and mix it well. Add the solution to a spray bottle. Spray it on a clean cloth and start cleaning your sofa gently. Remember not to allow water to drip off the cleaning cloth in order to avoid your faux leather sofa from over-saturating with water. With a clean cloth, pat the entire area dry.
Relax and connect with your friends over a cricket match or a few drinks in the comfort of a truly clean sofa.
