- Too much water is bad for the wood. So, let this be a weekly routine. Prepare a solution of one cup of vinegar and three cups of water. Pour the solution in a spray bottle. Spray it and clean it with a mop for a shiny, waxy look. To put moisture back in the wood, add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil to the bottle once a month.
- Warm some water with a couple of tea bags. Dip a cloth in the solution and gently wipe it over the hardwood flooring. It needs to be merely damp and not soaked.
- For a sticky mess, rub some olive oil. Allow it to settle and clean it with a dry cloth.
- In case of a gap, take a crayon which matches the shade of the flooring and rub it on the gap. Turn a blow dryer on high, heat the area where the crayon was applied and smoothen it with a soft cloth.
Remember to dry mop the flooring daily and use these DIYs whenever required.
