Water stored in an unclean bottle can smell unpleasant and taste awful. It can lead to diseases too. But you can easily prevent waterborne diseases if you take the necessary precautions.
The first thought in our heads after buying a new water bottle is to rinse and use immediately. However, a thorough cleaning is necessary and it isn’t difficult to do. Here are two highly effective yet simple ways to ensure that your bottles are absolutely clean.
Rinse your water bottle with warm water.
Fill your bottle with clean water, add 2 tbsp. vinegar and shake well.
Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes.
Empty the bottle and rinse it properly using clean, lukewarm water to eliminate the smell of vinegar.
Let the bottle air dry for about 20 minutes.
Prepare a paste by mixing 2 tbsp. of baking soda in a cup of water.
With the help of a sponge, apply the paste inside the bottle.
Let the paste stay inside the bottle for about 15-20 minutes.
Rinse the bottle with warm water till the paste is completely washed out of the bottle.
Dry the bottle completely by either keeping it out in the sun or keeping it directly under a fan.
Try these two methods out before you use your new water bottles, so that each sip of water is a refreshing one!
