Due to constant dampness inside the washing machine, mouldy smell ruins the freshness of clothes and towels

Laundry is supposed to have a fresh fragrance. Follow these tips to get rid of the bad smell of your washing machine.

Top tip:Use an old toothbrush to remove the stubborn slimy residue.

1) Clean the gasket.

Create an equal mixture of hot water and bleach in a bowl, dip a rag inside it and wipe clean the gasket thoroughly.

2) Clean the soap dispensers.

Remove the dispenser, pour 2 cups of baking soda into it and wash it with warm soapy water. Most of the mould gets accumulated in the corners, so use a pipe cleaner for efficient cleaning.

3) Homemade cleaning agent.

Mix 1 cup of hot water, 1 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of vinegar in a bowl. Pour this solution directly into the tub of the machine and run the longest wash cycle with hot water. You can also add 2 cups of Surf Excel for fragrance.

4) Let the machine dry out

During the regular wash cycle, dry out the machine in between the loads. It will reduce the mould build-up.
