From the moment the microwave made its entry into our kitchen, heating and even cooking have become much quicker. We rely on the appliance for everything, from warming a cup of tea to cooking an entire meal for the family. Due to its frequent use, your microwave tends to get very dirty. Here are a few tips to remove unwanted stains from it.

Remember to wash the rotating glass tray in the microwave only after it has cooled down. Allowing cold or room-temperature water to flow over the tray while it is still hot might shatter it.There you have it! Try these easy, effective tips and keep your always-needed microwave sparkling clean.

1) Use Dishwashing Liquid

Prepare a solution comprising 2 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid and ½ cup of warm water. Pour this in a spray can. Apply over the stained areas and let it sit for 10 minutes. Wipe the stains away with a clean dry cloth.

2) Use Vanilla or Coffee Beans

Take ¼ cup of vanilla beans or coffee beans. Put it in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 10-15 minutes. Your microwave will start smelling fresh after this.

3) Use Steam

Fill a microwave-safe bowl with ½ cup of water. Add a sliced lemon to this bowl and heat it for five minutes. Let it sit in the microwave for five minutes and you will notice steam forming on the window and interiors of the appliance. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the inside of the microwave. The stains will now come off with ease.
