Use an effective dishwashing liquid. You could try Vim Dishwash Gel for this, which is easily available. Invest in a good pair of gloves to avoid direct contact with dirty dishes and leftover food. The gloves will also protect your skin and prevent it from becoming wrinkled due to prolonged exposure to water.

If the serving bowls and wok are greasy, soak them in hot water and add a few drops of dishwashing liquid. The burnt food particles stuck to the bottom of your pans will come off on their own. Do not leave dirty dishes in the sink without soaking them in water. The longer you let the stains dry, the tougher it is to clean them.

Follow the steps given below to wash your utensils efficiently.

Ingredients to Keep Handy:

a) Dishwashing liquid

b) Scratchpad

c) Old toothbrush

d) Lukewarm water

e) Kitchen towel

  1. Step 1: Fill the Sink with Hot Water

Put all your dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. Ensure that you’ve scraped off all leftover food. Not doing so will choke your kitchen drain and make it messy. Put on your gloves and fill the sink with hot water. Put 3-4 drops of dishwashing liquid in the water. Let the dishes sit in this water for 5-10 minutes.

  2. Step 2: Wash the Utensils

Start with smaller items like spoons, bowls and spatulas. Gradually move on to the bigger pans. Use a scratchpad to remove tough stains. For aluminum cookers, you may have to use the coarse side of the scratchpad. Change the water in the sink if it gets murky. To get to the hard-to-reach corners of your dishes, scrub with an old toothbrush. Rinse all your dishes with clean lukewarm water and keep them separately.

  3. Step 3: Dry the Dishes

Use a clean kitchen towel to dry your utensils. Keeping your utensils dry will also protect your kitchen from mould and pest infestation. Then keep all the dishes back in their place and clean the kitchen sink.
