Painting the whole house demands days of work, shifting and rearranging. And in case you are staying in your house during the painting then, there are chances of paint spills and stains on your furniture, appliances, upholstery and bed linens.

Did you accidently drop some paint on your blanket? Follow these simple blanket cleaning tips!

In this article, we will take you through the step-by-step process of cleaning paint stains off your blanket.

Some oil-based paints cannot be removed. If this method does not make the stain any lighter, the stain is permanent.  If the stain lightens after the first attempt, only then is it worth trying further.

Step 1:

Solvent. We need to dissolve the paint from the fabric, so pick a thinner or turpentine available at any hardware store.

Step 2:

Application. Apply the paint thinner on the fabric directly. This helps remove the stain faster without having to wash the whole blanket.

Step 3:

Rub. Scratch the stain off with the help of a cotton swab or a used brush. Repeat step 2 again after the solvent dries out to get rid of the stain easily.

Step 4:

Final touch. Rub the area with a bar soap or liquid detergent. Rinse again with water and launder as usual.
