Did you spill some curry on your saree? Here's a simple way to save it!

Food stains on your favourite six yards is a nightmare!

Maintaining your saree is a big task, especially when you want to preserve the shine and lustre. Sarees can be washed even at home, though dry cleaning is the best available option.

Follow these steps and ensure your saree looks brand new

Step 1:

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of corn starch or any other absorbent on the stain and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2:

Dip a clean cloth in a dry-cleaning solvent and dab at the stain in a circular motion until the solvent is absorbed.

In case the stains don’t come out, follow these steps

Step 1:

Prepare a mixture of one tablespoon of Vim dishwashing gel and one tablespoon of vinegar in two cups of warm water.

Step 2:

Using a clean cloth, dab the stain with this solution until the liquid is absorbed.

Step 3:

Take a clean cloth, dip it in cold water and wipe the patch to remove the detergent/vinegar solution.

Top Tip

The moment you spot a stain, act immediately. The stains will be much harder to remove once they’ve dried.
