Step 2: Rinse with Vinegar
Vinegar is another excellent acid-based cleaner that works great on rust stains (if possible, use white vinegar for white clothes to avoid creating any other stains). After the 30 minutes have passed, rinse off the lemon and salt paste with some undiluted vinegar, which will help to dissolve the rust even further. Don’t worry though! Vinegar might have an unpleasant smell, but a good wash will make your clothes smell daisy fresh again.
Step 3: Wash with Detergent
Finally, it is time to properly wash the clothes with an effective laundry detergent like Surf Excel. Simply pour Surf Excel into your washing machine and wash your clothes in warm water. After the wash is done, make sure that the stain is completely removed before drying. If necessary, repeat steps 1-3 from this guide.
Now you know how to remove rust stains from clothes! From now on, your children will be able to play with their bikes without you worrying about those annoying rust stains! Like we explained in this guide, rust stains may look bad, but they are more easily removed than you might think. So let children have fun playing with their bikes, but be sure to keep some lemon juice, vinegar, and Surf Excel at home.
