Spending time on the playground and participation in sports activities is important for the development of your child. While children enjoy their time on the field, their clothes tend to get soiled and stained. Try these excellent tips to keep your child’s uniform stain-free and bright.
1) Remove Mud Stains
Mud stains are the most common type of stain found on a child’s sports uniform. To remove this stain effortlessly, let the mud on the uniform dry properly. Then, brush off the dirt from the uniform gently using an old toothbrush. Now, make a solution by mixing 1 cup of water with 1 tbsp. of lime juice. Apply this solution directly on the stained area and scrub the stain with a brush. Then, wash as you normally would. If the stains are stubborn, add liquid detergent to a bucket of water. Soak the uniform in this solution overnight. Wash the uniform as you normally would the next day. The uniform should be as good as new.
2) Remove Grass Stains
An intense match of football or cricket, or even a practice session isn’t complete until there are grass stains on your child’s sports uniform. To get rid of these stains, add 1 cup of detergent to 4 tsp. of water and make a paste. Now, apply this paste on the stained area and scrub using a brush, or with your fingers. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Later, wash as you normally would. The uniform will be stain-free and ready to tackle another round of sporting action.
3) Remove Sweat Stains
Sweat stains on your child’s sports uniform is something you cannot wish away. To wash these stains effortlessly, fill a bucket with cold water and add 2 cups of vinegar to it. Toss the uniform in this solution and leave it for around 30 minutes. Now, wash as you normally would. If you’re going to machine-wash the uniform, ensure that you turn the uniforms inside out. Soaking the uniform in vinegar will help get rid of any odour.
4) Remove Blood Stains
Bruising when playing any kind of sport is common and can cause bloodstains on clothes. To get rid of these stains, soak the uniform in cold water for 10 minutes. Make a solution by mixing 1 cup of salt and 4 tsp. of water. Apply this directly on the stains and scrub using your fingers or an old toothbrush. Now, wash it off with clean, cold water. Later, wash as you normally would. Salt acts directly on the blood and dislodges it completely.
