Cleaning Your Office Laptop Bag Can’t Get Any Simpler

Your office laptop bag facilitates easy transportation of your laptop and protects it from dust and accidental spills. But regular use can make your laptop bag look old and discoloured. To keep your laptop bag looking stylish and trendy, it is important that you clean it from time to time.

If your laptop bag is made of fabric, you can put it in the washing machine. But, ensure that you close the zipper and put the machine on a gentle cycle. For better results, you can hand-wash your laptop bag.

Read and follow these simple steps to clean your laptop bag.

Step 1: Empty all Pockets

You obviously need to take out your laptop before washing your bag. However, do not forget to check the smaller pockets for items like pen drives or charger.

Step 2: Remove Surface Dirt

Use a soft bristle brush to get rid of loose dirt from your laptop bag.

Step 3: Pre-Treat Stains

To remove food and drink stains from your laptop bag easily, pre-treat the stained areas. All you have to do is mix 2 tsp. of mild detergent in ½ a cup of water, and apply it on the stains. Use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the stained portion. Let the solution rest on the stain for about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Soak in Lukewarm Water

Next, soak your laptop bag in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes. This will help loosen the stains. For stubborn stains, you may have to soak longer.

Step 5: Wash with Mild Detergent

Read the care instructions on the label carefully before you wash your laptop bag with mild detergent. Use a toothbrush to scrub the pre-treated stained areas again. You can also use the toothbrush to clean the insides of the small pockets and the corners of your laptop bag.

Step 6: Rinse with Tap Water

Rinse your laptop bag thoroughly and ensure there’s no detergent residue.

Step 7: Let it Dry

Unzip your laptop bag and hang it upside down on the clothes rack.

And there you have it! Your old laptop bag should now be as good as new.
