Kitchen Cleaning Tips

Here’s a list of our favorite ways to keep a kitchen smelling fresh and looking clean.

1) Spice it up

Simmer a handful of whole cloves, 3-4 whole nutmegs, 4-5 cinnamon sticks, and perhaps a few orange or lemon peels in a large pot of water for an hour. Strain the cooled liquid into a spray bottle and use it in the kitchen and elsewhere whenever the air could use a little freshening.

2) Clean the drain

Pour 1 of cup salt into the drain followed by 1 cup of baking soda. Wash it off with a jug full of boiling water.

3) Clean the bin

Remove and dispose of wet and dry garbage, and clean out recycling bins every night or after major cooking. Wash the cans regularly with vinegar plus water solution or disinfectant that kills germs.

4) Wash the rest

Wash the dish cloth and kitchen towels periodically with bleach to get rid of dirt, odour and germs.

5) Dry your dishes

Use a compact drying rack which will drain all the water and moisture.

Make your kitchen shiny, dirt-free, and smelling fresh, without compromising on your health.
