5 Ways to Conserve Water

Here are some tips that will help you save water at home and contribute to the environment’s betterment:

Insert a regulator in your shower that keeps an upper limit on the flow rates.

1. Turn off the faucets while brushing teeth

We can maintain a beautiful, healthy smile and conserve water at the same time. While you brush your teeth, turn off the faucet and save up to 6 litres of water per minute!

2. Take a shorter shower

Consider getting an aerated shower head that combines water and air. It will minimise the wastage of water during long showers. A bath typically uses up to 30 gallons of water, whereas a short shower will use only 10-25 gallons of water. Thus, opt for a shorter shower. .

3. Use full loads in washing

Unless urgent, skip those extra washing cycles. This practice will cut out unnecessary washes & help you save water to the maximum extent. 

4. Fix a dripping tap

A leaky tap can waste up to 15 litres of water a day and 5,500 litres of water a year. A small leak can have a significant impact on our environment. Thus, always ensure that the taps aren’t dripping; in order to conserve our precious water resources. 

5. Check your water meter regularly

The time has come for us to monitor the amount of water that is used and start saving water in the best way possible. When you check how much water you use, you’ll know how much water you can save in the next month!
