how to remove wallpaper

There’s nothing better to brighten up a room than wallpaper, and we’ve got ideas for your whole home! From tropical prints to abstract designs, take a look at our advice on what’s best to transform your space.

Post-DIY cleaning will keep you in your flatmate’s or partner’s good books so be sure to have products like Handy Andy close to hand to clean up after you finish installing your wallpaper.

Living room wallpaper ideas

If you’re looking for wallpaper designs for a living room, this is a great space to go big and bold. Pick one wall as a feature and opt for something with a repeat print, such as a palm-patterned design, or modern wallpaper designs like stripes or textured fabrics.

Wallpaper design for bedroom

When it comes to the bedroom, think first of the rest of the room and the décor - this will help you find a design to match. Since the room is meant for sleeping, we recommend opting for something that’s calming and not too overwhelming. Stick to neutral colours and patterns, like a light grey design or a soft watercolour custom print.

Kitchen wallpaper ideas

Not sure how to choose wallpaper for your kitchen? Stick to a minimal print rather than something very busy. Your kitchen is usually already full of big appliances and cupboards so choosing a bold wallpaper could be too much! We love abstract prints in neutral colours with a pop of something brighter, like a black and white abstract floral design. You can also choose a design that looks just like exposed brick work to add an industrial edge to your space!

Bathroom wallpaper ideas

Your bathroom might not be the first place you think to wallpaper but it can actually be a great way to add something a little different and brighten up a dull room. A sea-themed wallpaper is a brilliant way of adding a fresh, open feel to your room, whilst a large botanical print in whites and yellows is bright and quirky.

Consider using the wallpaper on a feature wall furthest away from your shower or bath - wallpaper will work well in bathrooms providing the room is properly ventilated and the wallpaper does not get wet on a regular basis (the odd splash is ok, though).

No matter what design you go for, you’ll be giving your home an instant wall-to-wall update. And who says wallpaper was just for your walls? You can also make a striking statement by wallpapering you fifth wall: the ceiling!

  • Hire an interior designer to help you.

  • Look through home décor magazines.

  • Consider the current room’s design to find the perfect match.

  • Order samples to stick to your wall and work out which you like best.
