  • Leave the garment to air dry.

Found some dried-in banana on your baby’s clothes or your own? Soak the garment in warm water and some detergent, gently rubbing on the stain, and then wash as normal in the washing machine.

As you might guess, things can get a little messy with babies and bananas. Even if you’re spoon-feeding your child, the banana will still manage to end up going all over them and their clothes (and probably somehow on yours, too). This can lead to nasty banana stains that, if you’ve ever encountered them before, you’ll know are a pain to get out.

To help all you parents out, we’ve put together an easy-to-follow guide full of tips and tricks on how to remove banana stains.

  1. If you’ve spilt banana on your baby’s bibs and grows, the first thing you should do is scrape off as much as you can.

  2. Then, turn the item inside out and rinse with cold water – this will help to push off the excess banana rather than just pushing it further into the fabric.

  3. Chuck the clothes straight in the wash, or put them in a bowl of warm water mixed with a little Persil Non Bio Liquid to soak. This’ll help to prevent stains and stop you having to wonder how to get banana out of clothes at all.

How to remove banana stains from baby clothes with pre-wash

  1. If you’re still wondering how to clean banana stains from your child’s clothes, you could use Persil Non Bio Liquid as a pre-wash stain remover.

  2. Mix some with warm water (just slightly warmer than room temperature) and submerge the clothes, making sure the stain is completely covered.

  3. Leave it for as long as the instructions state before putting the clothes in the washing machine as normal.
