Cotton clothes not only look good but also feel good. Use these laundry tips to keep them looking bright and new.

Soft Clothes

Cotton clothes are the most breezy items for us in a country with warm weather. Cotton is soft, light, and breathable. There are also many stylish cotton outfits and options to choose from. They are also easy to maintain, and if cared for correctly they will last for years to come. However, there are chances of your cotton clothes fading if they are not treated right. But don’t worry, you can increase their lifespan and save them from fading or discoloration by using these simple laundry tips and tricks.

So let’s get started.

  1. Say No to Hot Water

We suggest you always wash your cotton garments in cold water. It helps keep the shape and texture of your cottons. Using hot water will only damage the fabric and cause it to deform.

  2. Soak Them

It is best to hand-wash your cotton clothes. Just add 2 cups of detergent to a bucket of water. We recommend Comfort Care Detergent because it fights the 5 signs of clothes aging and keeps your clothes new for longer. Now, gently swirl with your hand to mix the detergent in the water properly. Soak your cotton garments for 5-10 minutes in this detergent solution. Wring gently. Then rinse and continue.

  3. Separate Colors

Make 3 piles for your laundry: Light, dark, and whites. Wash them separately. Mixing dark colored clothes with your whites and light-colored garments can result in discoloration. It also causes the color to transfer. For example washing your white T-shirts with bright red towels can quickly turn those white shirts pink!

  4. Use Vinegar

If you’re machine-washing your cotton clothes, add 1 cup of vinegar to prevent fading and preserve the brightness of your cotton clothes. It also helps in keeping your cotton clothes soft and smelling fresh—always a great thing!

  5. Flat-Dry

Flat-dry your cotton clothes in a shaded area. Do not expose your cotton clothes to direct sunlight as it can cause the colors to fade and the fabric to shrink.

These tips will keep your cotton clothes from fading and will keep them your favorites for more years to come.
