How to use liquid detergent
Correct usage of liquid detergent is essential in getting your clothes to be as clean and fresh smelling as possible. You can actually put too much liquid into a washing machine and too little – both of which can inhibit the best results you’re looking for. Here’s how to correctly use auto liquids, most specifically the Sunlight Auto range of liquid washing detergents:
For washing machine use, pour one capful of detergent into the washing detergent dispenser in the machine. One capful is sufficient for a normal load of washing that is lightly soiled. For a load of washing that is heavily soiled, you can use one and a half capfuls of detergent instead.
For hand washing use, pour one capful of detergent into a bucket of warm water (or approximately 5L of water). Mix it around well to dissolve the liquid. Add in the load of washing and allow to soak for 10 – 15 minutes before hand washing. For heavily soiled loads, you can use one and a half capfuls of detergent in a bucket of water.
Auto Liquid detergents also make great spot-cleaning or pre-treatment solutions for stains. Here’s how to use the auto liquid detergent directly on stains:
Pour a teaspoon of Sunlight auto liquid (any one of the product ranges that you prefer) directly onto the stain on the garment. Do not dilute it before doing this.
Gently rub the liquid detergent into the stain with an old, soft-bristled toothbrush, and then allow it to soak in for about 10 – 15 minutes.
Wash the garment as normal, as directed above
Tip of The Day:
Do you love a particular smell or essential oil that you use in your home regularly? Why not add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the pretreat solution when soaking stained clothing? Add 10 drops of essential oil like lavender, rose geranium, peppermint, lemon verbena, or sweet orange for a lingering scent on your clothing. You can also add the drops to the washing machine dispenser with Sunlight Auto Washing Liquid.
Pick up a Sunlight Auto & Handwash Liquid or Sunlight 2in1 Auto Liquid from your local retailer today – you’ll be glad you did.
