How to remove chocolate stains on clothes

Whether it’s hot chocolate on the kids' clothing or some decadent dark chocolate on your favourite shirt, chocolate stains are one of the most common stains we get asked about. Here are our top tips:

  • As soon as the chocolate stain happens, run the stained area under cold, running water, rubbing it a little with your hands. This will help to stop the stain in it’s tracks and not seep too deeply into the fabric.

  • If you’re out, use a little hand soap to work into the stain.

  • If you’re at home, pre-treat the stain by dabbing it with a dollop of your favourite washing liquid like OMO Auto Liquid.

  • Wash the garment as normal in your washing machine with OMO Auto Liquid detergent and a good fabric conditioner.

  • Dry the garment on the line in direct sunlight if possible.
