Eucalyptus Showers

Eucalyptus is a flowering shrub that comes from the Myrtle family of trees and it has a multitude of wonderful health benefits in its leaves. Even though it is native to Australia, we do find a lot of Eucalyptus trees in South Africa and have access to essential oils made from eucalyptus oils too.

  • Get a large bunch of fresh or dried Eucalyptus leaves.

  • Tie them together with a piece of string or rope that can get wet.

  • Hang them from your shower head or somewhere in the shower where they won't get too wet, but will be able to get steamed by the hot water.

The steam of the shower will release the oils in the Eucalyptus leaves, allowing you to breathe the Eucalyptus scent in and get the respiratory and health benefits from it.

What Can I Use If I Don't Have Eucalyptus Leaves?

If you cannot find Eucalyptus leaves – wither fresh or dried – you can get the benefits of the oil and scent of Eucalyptus in a few other ways:

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Buy a bottle of Eucalyptus essential oil from a trusted store or Pharmacy and put 10 – 12 drops of essential oil in an open bowl. Place in an area of your shower where it won't get full of water and splash out, but again where the oils can be released into the steam for you to breathe it in.
